New to Yoga?
Yoga is for you if you want to feel better, get stronger live happier and more relaxed. If you are not sure where to start take one of our beginner classes. Our instructors will introduce you to the basic yoga postures, terminology and philosophy. No experience is required. You may want to stay in these classes for a little while or a long time before you are ready to move on to a more advanced level. You are a yogi if you are present and practicing your yoga, it is not about your “level”.
Yoga is for everyBODY! Whether you are short, tall, an athlete, young or seasoned. It is accessible to all body types, shapes and ages. Yoga is for you if you are seeking health and wellness and want to improve your physical and mental well being. Yoga can be as restful or as rigorous as you want it to be. Modifications can be provide for most body types and health conditions. Benefits of Yoga: increased core strength, tone muscles, improved your balance and flexibility, body awareness, peace of mind, agility, injury prevention…..the list goes on and on.
Tips and Etiquette
•Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early before your first class to fill out new member registration and consent
•Wear comfortable clothing – not too loose and remove shoes and socks before entering studio
•Bring a mat if you have one, we do have a limited supply at the studio if you do not have one
•Bring a water bottle
•Let the instructor know of any health issues or injuries before class
•Be mindful of noise levels
•Refrain from wearing any perfume/cologne to class
•Observe silence when in the studio, many people use this time to meditate before class
•Silence all pagers and phones and please leave outside of studio
•If you must leave class early please do so BEFORE savasana never during
•If you perspire a lot and for Hot Yoga practitioners, we provide small hand towels, but it is recommended to bring a large towel or a yoga mat towel
•Leave your ego at the door! Respect your body and know its limits. Do not compete or compare yourself to others. Yoga is a practice, not a performance. You will see yourself grow with each practice and it takes time.
